About Before They Went Viral

Before They Went Viral (BTWV) is an early-signal tracker. It watches communities — Hacker News, Reddit, tech press, and beyond — for stories gaining momentum before they hit the mainstream.

How signals work

Every signal gets a score out of 100 based on velocity (how fast it's accelerating), reach (how far it's spreading), and community energy. A score above 90 means mainstream attention is probably close behind.

What it's for

• Creators — find topics before they're saturated.
• Builders — spot where attention and markets are moving.
• The curious — know what's next before everyone else.
